How does Quantum get paid?

Quantum Financial Planning Services, Inc. is a fee-only Registered Investment Advisor. Practically, we get paid in two ways. First, a one-time flat fee for financial planning. Second, as a percentage of assets under management for portfolios that we manage on behalf of our clients.

We do NOT accept any investment commissions. To learn more about how financial advisors get paid, read our blog post.

What is Quantum’s investment philosophy?

At Quantum we take a long-term investment perspective. In practice, this means we systematically rebalance portfolios, and manage each client’s portfolio based on objectives and risk to achieve his/her long-term goals while striving to keep investment costs low. We believe that investment performance is attributed to asset allocation over security selection.

Financial Planning Questions

What is financial planning?

Financial planning is a comprehensive process that involves analyzing an individual's financial situation, determining financial goals, and creating a strategy to achieve those goals. This process encompasses various aspects such as budgeting, saving, investing, insurance planning, tax planning, retirement planning, and estate planning. Financial planning is much more than investing. It provides comfort knowing how to prepare for the future and adapting to various life stages.

Why should I have a financial plan?

The financial planning process helps identify what goals can realistically be achieved given your resources. Having a financial plan can also help identify what is being overlooked and prepare you to mitigate future risks. Ideally, it helps outline goals and sets you on the trajectory to achieve those goals.

What's the difference between a financial plan and financial planning?

A financial plan is a snapshot of where you are financially and where you want to go, along with the steps you intend to take to get there. Financial planning is a broader, ongoing process that extends beyond the creation of a financial plan. It involves the systematic analysis of an individual's entire financial situation, including their goals, assets, liabilities, income, expenses, and risk tolerance. Financial planning encompasses not only the development of a financial plan but also the implementation of that plan, regular monitoring and adjustments as needed, and ongoing guidance and support from a qualified financial professional. Our process organizes your financial life, allowing you to make confident and informed financial decisions.

Why should I work with a financial planner?

A financial planner helps you outline your financial goals while employing strategies to reach those goals. Working with a CFP® ensures a strategic and custom plan built around your personal circumstances. Their advice goes far beyond your investment portfolio and addresses various aspects of your financial future. In the long run, working with a financial planner can save money and help you retire earlier.

While we’ve outlined some of the basics to financial planning here, there is much more to building a financial plan. To make sure you’re on the right track, schedule a free insight meeting with us.
